This new yarn from Rowan is a beautiful blend of baby alpaca, merino wool and a little nylon with a funky I-cord-like strand rather than the usual plied strand. It is available in twelve colors of grays, greens, blues and browns which are perfect for the cold weather ahead.

This yarn glides through your fingers as you knit and has a slight nubby texture in the finished fabric.

I can't even begin to describe how soft, warm and snuggly it is. In fact, as I was carrying around the model on Monday it occurred to me that this yarn would make quite a wonderful and luxurious afghan. Makes me want to curl up with a good book or knitting project just thinking about it.
Of course, Rowan does not disappoint with their pattern support. The Lima Collection is one of their best books this season.

It has 14 designs for this yarn and highlights it's ability to showcase texture. Case in point.

Lima has really proved to be a winner for Rowan. I'm not the only one who thinks so. Jared of Brooklyn Tweed raved about it here and Clara Parkes also recently reviewed it here. But the real proof is in the fact that Rowan is having a hard time keeping this yarn in stock.
