Over 200 items – hats, mittens and scarves – were donated this year to the Mitten Fairy and Hats for the Homeless campaigns to warm the heads and hands of St. Paul area school children and homeless adults. We received donations from near and far, from one item at a time to piles of mittens with some matching hats! The generosity of people taking the time to make things by hand to give to needy strangers is heartwarming and greatly appreciated. We are happy to serve as organizers of this project and couldn’t do it without you.
A couple of items of note:
- If you have a Yarnery punch card from your donations, please stop in during January to use your discount on your entire purchase (not just one item). They expire on 1/31/11.
- If you want to make more items, we do accept donations all year long.
- In addition to hats and mittens, we have recently received an email from the Women's Advocates Shelter on Grand Ave, requesting scarves for their clients (18 adults and 25 children). Please drop off at the Yarnery by 2/28/11.
